We have a wonderful team of volunteers working to make this kitchen happen – see below. Peter and Paul from Moretonhampstead Community Shed, John Dodds, and Barry and Jeff Coath from BNC Electrical Ltd and Julia Mockett, a trustee of the Hall.
Work started when we received confirmation our application for a Platinum Jubilee Village Hall Fund grant from Defra had been successful and we were awarded £9,179.
So, the kitchen has been dismantled. There are new battens on the walls, first fix electrics done, insulated, plaster boarded and the stainless-steel panels all but completed. The plastic panels above the stainless-steel still to be fitted, second fix electrics and to complete preparing the pantry, formerly the “chair cupboard”, fitting it out with cupboards and shelving.
New flooring goes down week commencing 16th February – and then… THE KITCHEN ARRIVES!! Phew – so exiting!! See more photos of the progress in the gallery.
